What Does It Mean to Be a Single Person?

Those who grapple with bachelorhood in life may encounter difficulties with:
- Identity (“Who am I?” “What is my purpose?”); (Ephesians 2:10)
- Loneliness (“I seek someone to complete my life.” “I feel very alone.”)ᅠ (Hebrews 13:5)
- Rejection (“I am not desired.” “I must not be considered lovable”); (1 John 3:1)
- Fear (“I might be lonely when I am elderly”)ᅠ “I do not wish to be wounded anymore.” (Isaiah 41:10)
- Bitterness (“I’m hardly doing my best in life,” “God must be reprimanding me”); (Psalm 84:11)
- Sexuality (“The only way to intimacy is via a sexual relationship.” “I’m at a loss on what to do with my romantic desires.” (Romans 12:1)
- Self-Worth (“I don’t feel significant.” “I am not worthy of love.” (Isaiah 43:4)
In our Singleness towards the Lord, we all should enable ourselves to focus on being comfortable and the Lord's content in our connection with Him.
